  • 1: Richard is a princess who has been recognized as extraordinary since birth.
    
    Her childhood was not only filled with precious jewelry, the fawning of aristocrats, fairish dresses, and exquisite desserts; it was also filled with training so strict, that the mere thought of it would make a normal child cry, and heavy responsibility that would crush most people.
    
    She was not just the mere daughter of the emperor. She was also a warrior due to carry the fate of the eons-long war between humans and dragons upon her shoulders.
    
    This burdensome destiny did not scare Richard away; in fact, it made her more strict on herself.
    
    When Richard was 16 years old, her father led her to a secret door deep within their castle. It was there that she saw the tomb holding many generations of the royal family. However, what she found in the tomb were not floral garlands and lavish ornaments adorning magnificent graves, but the broken bones of all manner of beasts.
    
    Within the tomb, her father told her the destiny her family had always carried. The members of Richard's lineage were all generals leading humanity in their war against the beasts. The shards of monsters they'd defeated with their own hands were more potent symbols of glory than any manmade decoration could be.
    
    Generation after generation of the kingdom's stewards had given their lives and livelihood to the endless war against the dragons. Now, Richard was about to inherit this amazing responsibility.
    
    "My daughter. Now that you know the whole truth, it is time for you to make a choice"
    
    Her father's voice had a grave timbre to it.
    
    
    Would it be better to live a happy life within this artificial peace? Or accept destiny and become a warrior leading the charge against the dragons?
    
    It was silent for a few moments, then Richard looked up at her father and replied:
    
    "I will take upon myself this truth that our family is burdened with. Not only that, I will end this war with the dragons."
    
    Upon hearing this reply, her father nodded solemnly and took her deeper within the tomb. The two of them saw the dragon-slaying Sword of Triumph that had been passed down in the family for generations. It represented not only a sharpness that cut could through anything, but also the strength and courage required of those who fight the dragons.
    
    Richard stared at his old sword. Its extraordinary and oppressive aura did not frighten her; instead, her eyes were full of light, for she saw in this sword the reflection of her own power.
  • 2: To truly inherit the Holy Sword, one must first prove that they have the ability.
    
    The first time Richard led a team, her goal was to clear a demon lair discovered on the border of her country.
    
    This would no be a difficult task, so long as she was able to determine the location of the lair, lead an elite team, charge inside, and eliminate all the demons within.
    
    The mission was a breeze for Richard. She was a natural born leader, and with a short speech, she was able to excite all of her warriors before their charge. Afterward, she rode a warhorse and led her team's attack on the frontlines.
    
    Under Richard's commands, the battle went smoothly at first. However, just as everyone mistakenly believed that the demons had been wiped out and they were getting ready to plant their flag, the situation suddenly changed.
    
    The shadow of a demon they'd missed suddenly appeared at the border. While the other soldiers wanted to ignore this demon, Richard went charging forth with her sword in hand to kill it without hesitation.
    
    This was a battle to prove that she could inherit the Holy Sword and become the bearer of her family's legacy, so she wanted to do everything perfectly, without any flaws.
    
    "Your Highness! That area is unexplored. We don't fully understand the situation there, so it's best to not rush in!"
    
    One of Richard's followers tried to stop her, but she paid them no mind.
    
    "This is an elimination mission. The enemy must be completely cleared out. It would not be possible to receive the Holy Sword's approval with only half-hearted commitment! Don't tell me you doubt my strength!"
    
    Richard spoke solemnly and confidently, and charged into the unknown area.
    
    At first, there were only weak demons scattered about, but as Richard's arrogance got the best of her and she continued to move forward, she was surprised to discover that she'd seemingly entered another, larger lair.
    
    Several high-level demons ambushed Richard from the shadows and surrounded her. All she could do was grit her teeth and fight back.
    
    Her body began to accumulate wounds, but her faith remained unshaken.
    
    "I am a princess who will inherit her family's legacy. This is not even a challenge for me!"
    
    When her reinforcements arrived, Richard had already wiped out all of the demons. Although she was covered in wounds, the soldiers could all feel Richards spirit - it was the spirit of one who would lead an army and win victories on behalf of mankind.
    
    Later, Richard took in her hand the Holy Sword while eyes full of admiration and respect fell upon her. She then made herself a war flag with a golden lion emblazoned upon it. Since then, a new star has been rising in the Dragonhunting Alliance: that of a warrior princess who shines like a lion.

  • 1: Captain, Following orders as part of your team, while less familiar to me than leading my own soldiers, has been a new and informative experience, and I thank you for that. It's also given me some new ideas regarding battle, which I hope we can discuss when you have the time. I expect great things from you, keep persevering and don't let me down. Richard.
  • 2: Captain, I'm writing to you to discuss questions regarding our next strategy. A map and plan are attached below, please take a close look at them and reply at your earliest convenience. The battlefield is chaotic, but I didn't expect this. There was no time to discuss it when I met with you, hence I am writing to you instead. When you came to my quarters last time, it seems you were stopped by my loyal lieutenant... Although it was just a misunderstanding, I hope we can resolve it. However, I think such a misunderstanding was unnecessary to begin with. For convenience's sake, I have enclosed an order written by my daughter herself, which will grant you free access to the entirety of my quarters. You are the one I trust the most. Cooperating with you has been a delight, and we have fought honorably and effectively. Moreover, I'm confident I know you better than anyone: you're someone I can trust with all my heart.
